Mission

SAFECO is a women-based association working in South Kivu province in eastern D.R. Congo. We aim to improve the conditions in which women, adolescent girls, women with disabilities and indigenous women in our society live. To achieve this mission, SAFECO works with its membership and partners, using education and technology to amplify the voices of women and adolescent girls; teach them to advocate for their rights and the rights of nature; empower women to build their economic capacities for livelihood development; and promote grassroots women's organizations and build their capacity.
