Equal Rights to All Babies

support to life
support to life

Last week the Syrian War entered its seventh year...

The babies born 7 years ago, are now 7 years old...

Those children are our future and we have to support their lives. This is our initial mission as an humanitarian aid organization.

In the work we’ve been doing as Support to Life in the past five years, we always strived to help Syrian
refugee families meet their basic needs such as food, furniture, winter clothes and provide psycho-social support
through, while also focusing long-running support programs to generate lasting impact.

Support to Life has started to distribute 'tenth month baby packs' for the newborn refugee babies. Each ‘tenth month pack’ includes basic-care goods that the babies will need in the first six months of their lives such as blanket, jumpers, diapers, colourful tiny dresses, baby booties and so on. In addition, for mothers giving birth away from their homes under difficult circumstances, there is a ‘mother’s journal’ which includes information about child development.

Moreover, newborn mothers will be able to write their memories and emotional moments about their motherhood in that mother's journal. We are continuing to visit them and giving their packs nowadays.

Thanks a million for your donations and your presence.

With the help of your valuable contributions we will have the opportunity to reach more refugee babies.

We believe that it is every child’s right to set-off in life with a good start!

Cold Weather Affects Children Mostly

Children Smile in the Camp
Children Smile in the Camp

Refugees in Turkey migrate from one location to another. Some leave the camps with the hope of a better life, some try to go back to their ‘once called’ homes and some simply travel to see their relatives who are also trying to hold on to life in a different place. Yet, they are all still displaced.

We managed to help many refugees with your help and your donations so far. ew thank you each one of you for your sensitivity on this issue and also your generous donations.

Currently there are 1322 Ezidi refugees in this camp located in Diyarbakir and the number increases every day since some camps in the surrounding region are closed down.

Diyarbakr is incredibly cold now and refugees are extremely vulnerable to snow and freezing temperatures in the winter. Imagine how refugee children are being affected and also in need, these days.

For that reason,we humbly ask you to support our project to make it possible for us to meet their needs for warmer clothes and blankets. Your donations will help refugee children to feel happier and they will hold on to life.

Let's make them smile, together.

Following the Traces of a New Life

A.S. happyly born in Sanlurfa, Turkey.
A.S. happyly born in Sanlurfa, Turkey.

On a Sunday afternoon passed mid-October A. S. opened her eyes for the very first time as the fourth child of the family. The family’s story is fairly similar to the other Syrian Refugee families. Her mom along with her siblings, without a husband, fled to Turkey only a few months prior to her birth without passports or belongings.

The family was not a part of the ‘temporary protection’ program of the state and was not eligible for social services at the time we met them. However, they were in need of support and shelter. Our Case Management Officer Hatice Kaya, located in our Sanliurfa Office, along with our team helped the pregnant mother and her three children to find shelter until the identification process was completed.

After the most important problem was resolved the labor started, which is exactly when we found out that the mother was in worse shape than we though. She was immediately taken to the hospital and the painful delivery resulted with a c-section. Little A. S. was placed into an incubator, but was able to leave the hospital safe and sound with her mother in a few days. Your generous donations allowed us to give the very first gift to the newborn. Her mother does not need to worry of the caring items she needs for the baby girl. We would like to thank each and every one of you once more for supporting lives.

There are new lives coming to this world every day with the new hopes. According to UNHCR statistics, close to four hundred thousand out of all the registered refugees in Turkey is under 4-years-old. Many of these refugees were born in Turkey without protection or shelter. This is why your donation is very important for these refugees as it strengthens them to have your support.
