Report 1: Preparation has started!

Workshop for girls from Sarajevo, April 2015
Workshop for girls from Sarajevo, April 2015

Centre for Civil Society Promotion (CCSP) has started with preparation of set of activities that will be organized as part of the 2016 Girls in ICT event celebration, during last week of April 2016.

Among all other activities that will be held in Sarajevo and in other towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina, CCSP will organize special learning event that will include practical and skill-oriented workshops for these girls, which should help them to discover which area (ex. new technologies, health, education and self-education) suits them the best and what to pursue in the future. CCPS’s skilled staff and educated volunteers will then provide them with carrier guidance, in terms of available scholarships, summer internships, university choices, which should hopefully help the girls come one step closer to fulfilling their dreams. CCSP is planning to bring twenty girls from rural areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the CCSP’s Resource Centre in Sarajevo. Within this safe and welcoming environment, CCSP is planning to provide innovative IT lectures, meeting with prominent women from IT sector, and strengthen their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Twenty girls will be selected through primary schools, our partners, who will help us select talented young girls from remote areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With your generous support, CCSP will be able to provide them transportation, accommodation in hostel, food and material. Lecturers and facilitators of the workshops will be volunteers from our organization and IT companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Our team of volunteers is preparing a program for this event, and it will be shared with all of our supporters at GlobalGiving platform, together with photos, personal stories of girls who will participate at the workshop.

Thank you again for your support!
