WE'VE HAD SUCCESS AND WE KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

With the beginning of a new year, APRAMP has turned a new page and has been able to raise more money thanks to our generous donors! As a result, we are getting closer to reaching our goal!

Over the past 3 months, since our last report, the organization has received around 430 US dollars, allowing us to move forward and begin preparing the program to train trafficking survivors to become Social Agents.

The money we have recently received will be used to buy and get together all of the training materials for at least 4 survivors so they can be trained on how to help other women and girls in similar situations. As mentioned in the project, it costs 90 US dollars to provide 1 survivor with the necessary training materials for one year. Thus, allowing us to prepare the training materials for at least 4 new women.

This is a great step to making a difference in the lives of women and girls who suffer human trafficking and/or sexual exploitation, as it gets us one step closer to being able to begin the program and help women and girls achieve their goals and build professional and social skills, raising their self-esteem and opening up new opportunities. Not only will the carrying-out of this program help the lives of the women and girls who are trained, but it will extend to others who are currently in situations of trafficking or sexual exploitation. Once the survivors are trained, they will become part of the Mobile Rescue Unit which conducts proactive and direct identification in the places where exploitation and trafficking take place.

Once the team detects cases and identifies victims, the Social Agents provide information on their rights and on the services and resources available to them. Quickly, the trained survivors are able to connect with these individuals due to the fact that they share similar experiences and understand better than anyone what potential victims need and how to help them. This relationship of trust which is built with these women and girls in situations of trafficking and/or exploitation opens the door to new opportunities, as the potential victims begin to recognize their situation and seek help to escape from the control of their traffickers and exploiters.

APRAMP is very excited to have received this money and support and, are hopeful that we will be able to reach our goals in order to truly make a difference in the lives of women and girls who are suffering and to fight this terrible human rights violation.

On behalf of the organization, we thank you for all of your moral and financial support! Our hope is to continue moving forward, and we ask for your help to spread the word about the project so we can begin the program. Fighting to get our project funded!

Mobile Rescue Unit
Mobile Rescue Unit

Since our last report 3 months ago, sadly our organization has not been able to raise any more money. As a result, we have had to put the project on hold and have not been able to begin training more survivors to be part of the Mobile Rescue Unit. Every day APRAMP attends to more than 240 women in situations of sex trafficking and/or sexual exploitation, informing them of their rights and the resources available to them and, offering them real alternatives in order to escape from the control of their exploiters. On a daily basis we intervene with individuals who are working hard to receive training and education, and who are doing everything possible to begin a new life. Many of these women, after going through their recovery process, express their desire to dedicate their lives to reaching out and helping other girls and women suffering similar situations. We currently have a great team of 7 survivors who have been trained and who are working hard to detect, identify and offer support to those individuals in situations of trafficking and/or exploitation, but we want the team to keep growing. With your help, we can do that!

The other day, one of the women who escaped her trafficking situation and, who was with APRAMP receiving services and support for over a year came back to visit! She came in to tell us how grateful she was for the help and training she received from the organization and that she has decided she wants to focus her career on helping other women escape from sex trafficking and/or sexual exploitation. She is so excited about the possibility of doing this and is extremely brave, as it is not easy to “return” to the same places where she was being exploited. When the Mobile Rescue Unit goes out to do street intervention, they go directly to the places where women are being exploited, which means that often, the survivors are returning to the same places where they were suffering. These women are brave and very dedicated to the work carried out at APRAMP.

We would like to be able to offer this survivor, along with many others who have expressed the same interest, the necessary training and skills in order to do this job. With your help, we can do that!

Thank you very much for all of your support. Please, help us in spreading the word about the project so we can actually begin to train these women and offer them the chance to rescue other individuals suffering from sex trafficking and/or sexual exploitation. Continuing preparations & getting the message out!

APRAMP social worker teaching survivors
APRAMP social worker teaching survivors

Since our start date with Global Giving 3 months ago, APRAMP has been making progress with getting the message out about the campaign. We have placed the project link on our website www.apramp.org, we have spoken about the project at the various seminars, round tables, training sessions and interviews we have carried out and, are continuing to plan how we can strategically reach donors! While we have not been able to begin the project, specifically, we are on our way to being able to as we continue to spread the word and contact APRAMP supporters.

APRAMP impacts the lives of hundreds of women a year through the different resources and services offered to women and girls in situations of human trafficking and/or sexual exploitation. We are confident this project, “Survivors Rescuing Victims of Human Trafficking”, will have an even greater impact. More women and girls will regain their freedom and take hold, once again, of the rights and dignity they deserve!

In these past 3 months, some amazing women have visited our Care Center who have come out of their situation of exploitation and who are at a much better place than they were just a few months ago, thanks to APRAMP´s holistic services. These women are begging to be trained so they can help other women in similar situations. It is our desire to be able to not only continue to help these young women who are already in a process of recuperation, but to also assist the women and girls who are still out there being victimized and abused in the recovery of their human rights. There is hope for these women, but we need your help!

APRAMP thanks all of its supporters, and asks that people continue to support and promote our project. We are still a long way from our goal, but we believe strongly in the success and impact this project will have on the lives of women and girls deserving of a new future once we reach our funding goal! Just like Isabella, a survivor who has been through APRAMP’s holistic care program, these women have a new opportunity. Watch Isabella's story (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jJxBE-QYlo) to understand how your support will be contributing to the new life these women can obtain!
