Bonus Day 50% Match will help us reach our GOALS!

Summer heat has hit Washington DC with a vengeance!

This DC Summer Is Going To Be Blazing Hot: Farmers' Almanac; Record-busting temps loom over DC area: WTOP 103.5FM; Could be one of the hottest summers ever- NBC4; are just three of the many headlines we have seen and heard in DC in recent weeks.

While many of us have protection from the elements, from icy conditions to searing heat in the summer, the homeless do not. UPO helps the DC homeless in several ways throughout the year and during the past few weeks UPO Shelter Hotline vans have transported hundreds of people to cooling stations. We provide comfort items for the homeless people we assist, from feminine items to care packages, water, food trays and protective clothing. With the heat wave having hit several weeks before summer officially began, Help UPO Help the DC Homeless has set a GOAL of raising an additional $3,000 during the next few weeks to ensure we are well stocked with comfort items to distribute to the DC homeless.

Help DC Help the DC Homeless has raised $17,337 to date from 200 generous donors, many of whom have donated to the project several time. Our GOAL is to raise an additional $3,000 during the next few weeks to finally reach our Project GOAL of $20,000.

GlobalGiving Rewards Bonus Day tomorrow, Thursday July 18, will provide us with a great opportunity to meet our GOALS.

Help UPO Help the DC Homeless! Our Superstar Ranking with GlobalGiving, earned with your support, will enable us to receive a 50% Match for each dollar we raise on GlobalGiving Rewards Bonus Day tomorrow, Thursday July 18.

The Rewards Bonus Day starts at 9:00:01 EDT tomorrow Thursday July 18 that is when the $120,000 in one-time matching funds will become available. The day ends at 11:59:59 EDT, however the matching funds may be used up much earlier in the day.

Thank you, dear loyal friends, for your generous support of  Help UPO Help the DC Homeless to date. With your help we have always had sufficient funds to provide the comfort items we have needed for our homeless customers who are dependent on UPO Shelter Hotlines support. Here’s how we can raise $3,000 for emergency comfort items for the DC Homeless in 15 hours on Thursday July 18!

You are one of 200 donors who have made donations to Help UPO Help the DC Homeless. If each one of us makes an additional donation of at least $10 to Help UPO Help the DC Homeless tomorrow, Thursday July 18, we will raise $2,000. If all our donations qualify for 50% matching funds we have the possibility of raising $3,000, the total needed to reach our GOALS.

The start time is 9:00:01 EDT on July 18. That is when the $120,000 in one-time matching funds will become available. Please make your donation as early as possible in the day to ensure that your donation is matched!
