Thank you very much for your support to Sphoorti over the years. Hope you have been safe and healthy. We are doing well here in India.
Sphoorti campus was locked down on March 16th and most of the children have been sent to their relatives. A few kids who do not have a family have stayed back. As of now, there is no update from the Government about when schools would reopen. Hyderabad still has 35-40 new cases of infections everyday.
Hazira Bee is staying on campus along with her mother Nagur who works as a cook in our kitchen. Hemanth Sai and Pavani have gone home. The kids have been promoted to higher grades.
While there has been no activity on the ground, Sphoorti has been proactive in reaching out to the victims of Covid-19, mostly the migrant workers and their families.
Next academic year, we are planning to start a school if all approvals are obtained in time.

Thank you very for supporting our campaigns on GlobalGiving over the last few years.
Last year, VJ attempted to scale Mt Aconcagua. He was not able to reach the summit as the weather was inclement and experts suggested he returned from the mountain.
Nevertheless, VJ demostrated that will can take you very far. His high-risk attempt in support of the cause of education of the Girl Child in India was very commendable. It is very rare these days that people think of the less-privileged.
With the help of support from GlobalGiving donors and other sources, we have been able to raise more than $20,000 and are in the process of constructing two rooms for our girl children in our campus.
It is a matter of pride that we have people like you and VJ for our children.
Even during the Covid crisis, your generosity served 8200 families and prevented 40,000 people from starvation. You have also provided 30,000 bread packets to returning migrants.
Thanks for everything

Thank you very much for supporting our campaigns over the years. Your generosity has helped us bring about change in lives of many children.
Because of the Corona Virus menace, we requested the builder to stop work in March until Government eases Lockdown conditions in Hyderabad.
The Staff Quarters Block has reached 85% completion. The bathrooms need to be fixed and some plumbing work is pending.
We have also decided to lay roads inside the campus this summer. There is delay of a few months but we will have the campus look more structured. We will clear the debris and the weed.
Our Forest is coming up well. In 2 years, we will have a self-sustaining forest which does not require watering.
We hope that Covid situation eases soon and our construction activity resumes.
