A sheep is a blessing!

One of the beneficiary families
One of the beneficiary families

Thanks to your help in the last 3 months we could buy 10 goats and/or sheep for the poorest families of the rural villages. The sisters gave this precious gift to the mothers in need when they came to the clinic with their children for the usual check-up visit. They were so happy that they started singing and dancing: a sheep is a real blessing for them! We hope they’ll be able in quite a short time to create a little domestic livestocks which can provide food enough for all their children. For the time being only 2 families were concerned, but as far as the number of sheep will grow the chain of solidarity will extend from them to their neighbors.

May their smile be the best gratification for all of us. Together we can make the difference!

A new smart board and educational games for Effeta

Multimedia classroom
Multimedia classroom

The main goal in Effeta is audiophonetic rehabilitation because it aims to train and prepare students to face their future making them aware that deafness is not an obstacle to a personal affirmation in society.

The exercise of listening and oral communication can guarantee the harmonious development of the student with the overcoming of his handicap.

Since the students in Effeta can not hear, they need a visual support that allows them to progress using the visual games: this is why Sister Lara is asking us to help her to buy an LCD software, a Smart Board and some educational games to increase the efficiency of the multimedia classroom.

We thank all of you for your support. Thanks to your help we can guarantee the basic right to grow and learn to many deaf children in Bethlehem!

A new co-homing experience

Game space
Game space

We have great news from our Social Housing project! Two new families have been welcomed in a renovated apartment, which has now three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a laundry room and a space entirely dedicated to play. The apartment is dedicated to lone-parent households living in a difficult economic and social situation, in particular mothers with their little children. The activity started in December, when the first family was welcomed. Today two moms with their two little daughters live in the apartment!

The welcomed families are being monitored by our specialized education staff, together with two volunteers, who are helping mothers to manage their everyday activities.

Through this new activity of co-homing, together with the welcomed families, we are willing to promote the value of cohabitation, which means for us a cooperative lifestyle focused on mutual support. In our opinion, this practice improves the quality of life, but above all it shows that smiling is not an extraordinary fact but an everyday experience!

We would like to take this occasion to thank you all once again, for the huge and fundamental support you give us every day! For this, we couldn’t be more grateful!
