Exciting New Opportunity

Recently we have partnered with a German based organization called Mercify in order to help raise funds to go towards our goal of opening a center for youth living with disabilities. To put it in general terms, Mercify is an organization that auctions meetings between people or groups for professional, personal, or entertainment reasons and donates the proceeds to charitable organizations. We were on of the few organizations around the world that was chosen to be one of their first partners ever. They are opening their ‘app’ in seven different countries and we look forward to their opening in Armenia sometime soon next year.   While we are still waiting for our partners to bring their program to Armenia, we have high hopes for the future of this relationship and hope that our beneficiaries look into yet another great way they can support our mission in Armenia. We will keep all of our followers updated to let them know how and when this ‘app’ will be available for access. You can click on the links to see their websites and learn more about their initiative and who Resource Center NGO is partnering with. Also, we remind anybody looking to donate that on November 29th GlobalGiving is offering a 50% match on donations made for the first $1 million raised. So if you’re looking to donate over the holidays it is a great opportunity to see your donated money help even more!

Special attention is given to children with disabilities. The beneficiaries of Charentsavan Resource Center NGOare mainly in the areasof Kotayk Marz, the town of Charentsavan and surrounding ruralcommunities of Alapars, Arzakan, assets, Fantan, Karenis. There are multiple age ranges of our beneficiaries with disabilities, including, 6-15, 16-35,and 50+.  We help more than 150 children, youth, and families living with children with disabilities.

Some of our main initiatives that we have annual projects to help youth with disabilities are:

1. The organization operates a pottery studio/workshop which opens up the possibility of job creation for people with disabilities and their parents/families to improve social conditions of employment, disabled people's integration into society, and to meet other needs of the disabled community.
2. The work of hand-made clay art by disabled children participated in a number of international, global and local exhibitions.
3. The organization operates a sewing workshop for members of the families of disabled children, where they learn the craft and work.
4. Each year, in summer, we help organize a camp in the town of Stepanavanfor three age groupsof disabled children consisting of 10 people.

Having a space specially dedicated to these and more projects and therapies, would greatly increase the number of projects we could handle a year as well as the number of beneficiaries we could house to do these projects.

Making New Partnerships and Strengthening Old Ones

During this reporting period we have been working hard to strengthen our existing partnerships and build bridges to new ones. We met with GolbalGiving and had a productive monitoring and evaluation meeting where we discussed what has been working for us and what has not been. It was a great opportunity to meet the organization we have been working with for years. Also, we have become partners with a new organization stationed out of Belarus called Mercify. It is a new organization with great ideas for the future. We are among the first in the world to become partners and we are looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship with them. We hope by strengthening these existing bonds and building new ones we can better fundraise and put our funds toward the disabilities center we have been trying to renovate for so long. We hope everyone will appreciate our hard work to help the people of our region and continue to donate!
