Thank you again for helping Cambodian children

Thank you for helping Cambodian children
Thank you for helping Cambodian children

Hello from Cambodia!

I just wanted to take a minute and thank you again for your donation to M’Lop Tapang is helping improve the lives of disadvantaged children and families here in Sihanoukville. With help like yours we have been able to assist thousands of children enter and remain in education and training programs and hundreds of families living in poverty improve their living standards.

One of the ways your support has helped is by assisting families living in poverty with urgent house repairs. Recently, our Outreach Team worked with Rith*, a father of three young children, to fix their small house. The family lives in a small, tin-walled house. Like other families in the neighborhood, Rith and his family do not have electricity or running water. The team purchased the needed supplies and worked alongside Rith to make urgent repairs to the walls of his house, making the structure more stable and fixing the holes that let in the rain. The family now has a safer, dryer place to live. So far in 2016, M’Lop Tapang’s Outreach Team has helped more nearly 50 local families with urgently needed house repairs.

Again, from all of us here at M’Lop Tapang, thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Eve Saosarin

An update on your donation to M'Lop Tapang

Healthy hot lunches
Healthy hot lunches

Hello from Cambodia,

I wanted to write to thank you again for your donations that are helping to provide healthy, hot meals to hundreds of disadvantaged children and youth that M’Lop Tapang works with. For many of these children, these hot lunches will be the most nutritious meal they have all day.

“I want to learn how to write my name.” Your generosity is helping children like 14 year old Sreyleak, one of the most recent students to join our education “Bridging Program” that helps children and youth who have never been to school (or have been out of school for a long time) catch up with their studies. Sreyleak has never attended public school when she was growing up. The family is very poor and wanted the young girl to earn money instead of going to school. Sreyleak spent most of her childhood working on the beach selling fireworks. She is now in a classroom at our Education Center learning to read and write – essential basic skills needed for a better future as she grows up. Every lunch time Sreyleak joins hundreds of other children in our cafeteria to enjoy a healthy lunch. These meals allow children to focus on their studies, without hunger as a distraction. You are helping to make this happen. Thank you!

As always, if you have questions or comments please don’t hesitate to contact me at info@mloptapang.org and I’ll do my best to get back to you as soon as I can.

Sincerely,

Eve Saosarin
