SUBJECT: PROJECT REPORT FOR EDUCATE A CHILD CHANGE A LIFE

 

  1. ANNUAL AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS:

M/S Muniff Ziauddin & Co Chartered Accountant carried out the audits of Account for Financial Year 2015-16. In their opinion the financial position, financial performance and its cash flow for the year was in accordance with the approved accounting standard as applicable in Pakistan. The finance shows a healthy trend as its Net Assets are continously increasing. The Trust will be able to complete construction of one school in Junejo Town and also meet the expenses on education of 300 students in both the school. We will however require 48 New sponsors for 48 new admission in April 2017. The sponsorship of Rs 12,000/= per child per year is collected in advance upto December 2016.  

 

  1. MEETING OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES:

The meeting was held on Saturday 24th September 2016. The Board approved Audit Report for FY 2015-16, Budget Variation Report for FY 2015-16 and Budget Forecast for FY 2016-17.

 

  1. ELECTION OF NEW MANAGING COMMITTEE TERM 2016-20:

Air Marshal Salim Arshad H.I (M) as Election Commisioner. Elected Members for the Managing Committee for Term 2016-20. The following were elected unapposed.

4. APPOINTMENT OF ADDITIONAL TRUSTEES:

    Mr. Ather Naseem s/o Mr. Haneef Ahmed Naseem CNIC No 423015-298596-5 resident   of 49/1 Kh-e-Tariq, Ph V DHA Karachi was appointed as an additional Trustee.

 

  1. MELA 2016

The DSRA Educational & Welfare Trust School organised a Mela for their children belonging to the underpriviledged families at the school premises on 12th November 2016. Prior to the function the Trust distributed Rs 100/= per child as cash eidi to the students to spend at the Mela.

 

The Teachers and senior students set up various food, games and other stalls including Burger, Kabab rolls, Dahi Baras, Gol Gappa, Chana Chat, Biryani and Qulfi stalls. Bhoot Bangla and Magic show were set up to amuse the children, In addition a large swing boat was arranged which remained the most popular attraction. The mothers and siblings of the students were invited for this function which was well attended as over 500 people attended the funfair. The guests and the students really enjoyed the function. It is organised every year and children and their mothers eagerly look forward to this function.

        6. REGISTRATION:

Registration of New Admission for Nursery Class for the Academic Year 2017 were started on 15th September 2016. So far 47 Children have been registered and admission tests will be held in the last week of January 2017.

       7. MID TERM EXAMINATION 2016:

Mid Term Examination in both the schools were held from 17thOctober, 2016 to 27th October, 2016. The result announced on 3rd November and despatched to the Sponsors on 4th November, 2016.

 

       8. BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION  EXAMS:

10 students of Class IX who appeared in the examination have all qualified. 3 students got A Plus grade, 3 students got A grade, 3 students got B grade and 1 got C grade.

SUBJECT: PROJECT REPORT FOR EDUCATE A CHILD CHANGE A LIFE

 

  1. SCHOOL REOPEN:

Both branches of DSRA Educational & Welfare Trust opened on 26th July 2016 and regular classes were started.

  1. CELEBRATION OF INDEPENDENCE DAY 2016:

The 69th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated in DSRA Trust schools with fervor and enthusiam on Saturday 13 August 2016 at Junejo Town Branch and on Sunday 14th August 2016 at Defence Branch. The proceedings started with Tilawat by students, singing of National Anthem and speeches by senior students on significance of the day. It was followed by singing national songs, naghmas and short humerous presentations. The compering of programme by Teacher Ms. Sehar Bashir at J.T school and by Teachers Ms. Ayesha Mohsin and Ms. Tooba Noor at Defence Branch was excellent. All the Teachers took active part in preparing the students of their classes for an impressive presentaion. In short it was a very enjoyable and informative function. Packets of juices were given to all the participants.

  1. AUDIT OF ACCOUNTS:

The Annual Audit of the Trust account was carried out. The financies  show a healthy trend as its Net Assets have increased from Rs 73.6 million to Rs 89.3 million which includes Capital work in Progress of the new building of Rs 13 million. The Trust received a total donation of Rs 14 million which includes Rs 7.8 million for the new project and Rs 5.3 million for Sponsorship Schemes. The Trust will therefore be able to complete construction of one school at Junejo Town and also meet the expenses on education of 300 children in both the schools. The most prominent Trustees who assisted in raising these funds are as follows. (US $ = Rs 106)

  1. PROGRESS REPORT OF NEW SCHOOL PROJECT:

The work is progressing at a slow speed but is expected to be completed in 3-4 months. The Capital work in Progress for this year has amounted to Rs 13,090,733.

 

Sindh Building Control Authority has allowed us to build Ground and two floors as done for Amenity plots. It is intended to apply for permission to build two additional floors on the plea that the approved plot does not allow adequate number of classrooms for education upto Matriculation and the plot is a Commercial plot, on which additional floors can be build.

 

  1. ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES:

The normal activities for covering the syllabus were carried out. The students are preparing for the Half Yearly Examination in October 2016.

PROGRESS REPORT NO 11 - 13 JUNE 2016
SUBJECT: PROJECT REPORT FOR EDUCATE A CHILD CHANGE A LIFE

ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION 2016:
The Annual Prize Distribution was held on 16th April 2016 at the school premises. Students who secured the first, second and third positions in their respective classes were given shields. Scholarships were awarded to fifteen outstanding students. Brig. Muhammad Zahir Malik, President Cantonment Board Clifton and Pakistan Army Station Commander Karachi was the chief guest. Brig Malik appreciated the noble task undertaken by the Trust for providing quality education to the children of underpriviliged families and recommended that every one should help the Trust in their effort to expand their activities. He assured the Trust his full support and assistance for this purpose. He mentioned that in the Holy Quran there is a great stress on good upbringing and education of children .
Adm. Sajjad Akbar the Chairman of the Trust informed that an English Medium school started in one room in 2003 with 24 children has expanded to 19 rooms, 12 classes with 215 children and the second branch at Junejo Town has 5 classes with 93 students.
Ms. Shamim Akhtar, the Headmistress thanked all the participants for attending the function which is a source of encouragement for the management, staff and students of the school.
DSRA TRUST SCHOOL DISTRIBUTE RAMZAN RATIONS 2016:
The Trust School has been giving Eid clothes and cash Eidi to all their students and Ramzan Rations to their parents every year for Ramzan. The Ramzan Rations and cash for Eid clothes were distributed to the parents of 225 students of the Defence Branch at Askari Markaz on 31 May 2016 and 02 June 2016 respectively. Similarly the cash for Eid clothes and Ramzan Ration were distributed to the parents of 101 students of Junejo Town Branch on 26 May 2016 and 01 June 2016 respectively.
Admiral Shahid Karimullah NI(M) SJ, former chief of Naval Staff graced the occasion on 31 May 2016 and Mrs. Sabiha F.I Sheikh graced the occasion on 01 June 2016. The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the Trust to help the families of students to celebrate Ramzan and Eid.
REMEDIAL CLASSES FOR WEAK STUDENTS 2016:
In Summer Vacation DSRA Educational and Welfare Trust School held Remedial classes for weak students from Class KG to Class VIII and regular classes for Class IX & X from 20th May till 4th June 2016 from 8:30 am till 11:30 am. During these classes teachers covered the weak area of the students in Maths, English, Science and Urdu.
WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS 2016:
DSRA Educational & Welfare Trust school held the Workshop byTeachers Resource Centre (TRC) which was conducted by Mrs. Rubina Naqvi on “Effective Teaching” on 6th and 7th June 2016 from 9 am to 12 noon which was attended by the 18 Staff Members of both branches of the school.
Objectives of the workshop were.
• Understand how the child’s mind develop.
• Become aware of the learning process and different learning style.
• Explore the elements of learning.
• Identify the cause of disruptive behaviour.
• Discuss management strategies to prevent misbehaviour in the classroom.
The workshop was very effective which gave guidence to the teachers. DSRA Educational & Welfare Trust school is very much thankful to Mrs. Rubina Naqvi for holding the important workshop and paying the cost to TRC for the workshop.
