Music Class Report

The music program works satisfyingly. 37 children currently attend the program. They received 50 class hours this quarter. The children are currently playing a total of 6 songs, among them: Los animales de mi casa, Vamos a jugar, Canta, toca, baila y Niños felices, navidad y el himno de la alegría.

The program also provides guidelines to teach values such as respect, teamwork, personal responsibility, etc. We have taken all of this into consideration to evaluate the process, not only in the musical aspect, but in the attitudes and behaviors as well.

We also perform concert drills, which include being silent, having a correct posture, wether sitting down or standing, holding the flute in the correct manner, watching out for the professor’s instructions to begin a song, rendering a good interpretation of the song and being silent at the end. What we are essentially doing is creating a culture around music.

Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Report

Prevention is the key to reduce the rates of child molestation. We designed a campaign containing six tips to prevent child molestation, which we circulate on social media and in the community we tend to directly.  These are tips every adult must know and apply. We describe these bellow:

The following are the tips we circulate:

  1. Watch over you children at all times, keep them close.
  2. Do not allow for strangers to be a part of the intimate and personal hygiene of your children.
  3. Explain to them the importance of watching over their own bodies, and that no stranger must touch them.
  4. Be on the look out, especially at night and in places with low lighting.
  5. Teach your children not to keep secrets. Create spaces of trust with them.
  6. Go with them to the bathroom at all times.

Feeding Center Report

Our main goal at the foundation is for no child to go to bed on a hungry stomach. In comparison with last year and up to october 31st of this year, we received 20 new children, and we delivered 23.922 meals. Also, because of the crisis of our brother nation of Venezuela we were able to receive 22 children from that country as well. This intentional and profound work of protection of the children we carry out in communes 8 and 13 of the city of Medellin, was honorably acknowledged last July by the Metropolitan Police of the Aburra Valley, Villa Hermosa Station.
