“Providing Education to 452 Children in Ruhagarika”

                                                      During the school year 2013-2014

Mr. Nicizanye has three children schooling at Iwacu Kazoza School, he said: “If this school could not have been here, my three children could not have a chance to go to school.  Now I can hope to see them complete  their education and have a good job that will enable them to help themselves and care for our poor family in the future”.

During this school year 2013-2014, Iwacu Kazoza School is providing education to 452 children, from the village of Ruhagarika and surrounding areas.  As you can see from this video, posted on the following link, most of these children schooling at above mentioned school come from very needy families: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_ZSxA6BcwA&feature=youtu.be

This school year 2013-2014, Iwacu Kazoza School opened, on September 9, 2013. In total, we have 452  students for Primary School   “Grade 1-5”  and for Secondary School “Grade 7-10”. With $8,821 raised during “Give for Youth Challenge”, JRMD was able to pay a part of teachers salaries, purchase some of the students and teachers books and provide school uniforms to 220 of the 452 students, schooling at Iwacu Kazoza School.  As you can see  from different pictures attached to this report, some of the students do not yet have school uniforms.

I am very  grateful to each one of JRMD/YRWD’s donors and friends, and friends of friends who enabled JRMD/YRWD to earn a permanent spot on GlobalGiving Foundation. As a result of that, JRMD/YRWD has
three projects posted on GlobalGiving website: http://www.globalgiving.org/donate/15413/jeunesse-en-reconstruction-du-monde-en-destruction-jrmd/

Today, the school has 18 teachers, committed and well educated to provide a good education to those students from
needy families, who could not have access to education without the help of JRMD/YRWD’s donors and friends, and friends of friends. May God bless each one of them in a very special way.

During the school year 2012-2013,  Iwacu Kazoza School provided education to  248 students for Primary School
(Grade 1-4) and Secondary School (Grade 7-9).  During this school year 2013-2014, we urgently need to roof 2 additional classrooms for grade 5 and 10. Currently, the students of grade 5 and 10 come at school from   noon to 5:30 pm, which is not fair. The two classroom are at the stage of roofing: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151530387101218&set=a.10150191650251218.313510.238561311217&type=1&theater

I would like to inform our donors and friends that we have been given  a great matching opportunity through
GlobalGiving! They are offering a 30% match on all donations up to $1,000. The  campaign begins at 9:00 pm Pacific Time on October 8 and 12 am Eastern Time on October 9. These funds will make a great difference as we continue to construct an orphanage that will accommodate 160  orphans  and  the school is educating  452 children attending the Iwacu Kazoza School: http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/providing-education-to-450-youths-in-ruhagarika/

I do not want to finish writing this report without expressing my thanks to the leadership of  GlobalGiving Foundation for connecting us with donors at worldwide level and serve together  our community in Burundi, Africa.

With much thanks and appreciation,

Prosper Ndabishuriye

Project Leader and General Coordinator/JRMD

MY SPECIAL THANKS AND APPRECIATION TO JRMD DONORS

Dear donors and friends of JRMD,

I can’t wait without expressing my very special thanks and appreciation to you and those of your families  and  friends of yours that you have been able to mobilize, during Give for the Youth Challenge Campaign. Thank you so much for helping us to earn a permanent sport on GlobalGiving Foundation and win a bonus prize of $2,000.

I know there are a lot of other ways you could have spent this money and time, but you believe in our cause, so you chose to invest it in our project. Because of this investment, I want you to feel like part of our team with a mission to
give hope to the hopeless community and make Africa smile again.

With your help, our goal is to raise $405,359 through GlobalGiving Foundation, to finish the construction of the orphanage and provide education to 450 children, for the school year 2013-2014. I know that you are in a good position to continue to help us  and mobilize people who can donate for this cause.

Until our project is fully funded, we will be sending you regular reports about our work. You'll know what your donation has helped fund, what accomplishments we have achieved and what our current needs are.

I hope you find this partnership valuable and worthwhile. I know the economy is tough, so thank you for investing your hard-earned money on our cause. Please consider telling your friends and family about our project – sharing  the link on your blogs, face book  or social networks.
