Vittala International Institute of Ophthalmology

No one shall go blind for want of money or lack of care. Access to care is one of the biggest hurdles in India, especially so when it comes to chronic illnesses. We aim to reduce both economic and social burden of such diseases in eye care.
Eye Screening for premature babies

Retinopathy of prematurity is a sight threatening condition in premature infants, which has a disease course of 1 to 4 months post birth. It is a treatable condition when detected early. With improvement in survival rates of premature infants, this has become an significant issue. The VIIO Child Eye Care Project

Childhood blindness has multiple causes and these causes vary in different age groups. We understand that a single wide-net screening strategy is not suitable for all diseases in differing age groups. We plan to have community health worker, teacher led, technician led and doctor led screening and diagnosis systems, based on specific conditions with full cycle treatment delivery to ensure that no child will go blind. project reportread updates from the field
