Mission

The mission of Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is to provide pro bono legal counsel to children who enter the US immigration system alone. Our vision is to ensure that no such child appears in immigration court without an attorney. KIND aims to achieve fundamental fairness through high-quality legal representation and by advancing the best interests, safety and well-being of unaccompanied immigrant and refugee children.
