Children Have Right to Education

Thanks for sending me to a Nursery School!
Thanks for sending me to a Nursery School!

Thank you so much for continued support to sponsor South Sudanese Refugee children in Uganda.

At this first quarter of reporting:
With your cash donation through GlobalGiving you paid school fees for five children attending primary education in schools in and around Kampala.

With funding from Trolltech Foundation, 20 pupils had been sponsored, four in Nursery, two students, go to vocational institute, and 14 pupils are in primary schools in central, and northern Uganda.

Due to ongoing political unrest in South Sudan, many children have crossed into Uganda to safety and education. These kids do not go to school because they have no mean to pay the fees. HOPE OFIRIHA is appealing for more funds to send more children to school in Uganda.

In the second quarter, we will post you a new field update to report on the progress of this project, and how many new children your contribution has helped to give them an education. Thank you, GlobalGiving! And thank you, Trolltech Foundation!

Clay Cookstoves are good

Women are encouraged to use cookstoves for cooking
Women are encouraged to use cookstoves for cooking

Thanks for your cash donation to Stop Cookstoves from Killing South Sudan project. Your contribution to saving a life from toxic oxygen and fire burn is genuinely recognized by those benefiting the most.

At this reporting:
You distributed 65 clay cookstoves to South Sudanese families living in northern Uganda as a result of current unrest in their country. Women are being encouraged to use clay cookstoves for cooking!

A project is encouraging mothers ad young girls to use clay cookstoves when cooking to improve their health and reduces a danger to contract lung disease. Aclinic had not treated any patient with fire burned since most mothers are clay cookstoves.

We have identified five new young women to receive skill training in clay cookstoves making. But due to lack of funding only is receiving coaching. After training, she starts a business of making and selling clay cookstoves to support her family with basic needs and pay school fees to educate her children. We need your help to train many women and young girls!

In the second quarter, we will be posting a new field update reporting the progress on the ground and the positive impact your contribution is creating.

Mosquito: A largest killer In Africa!

Malaria is largest killer of children in Africa
Malaria is largest killer of children in Africa

Thanks for your support to a project Save People Dying from Malaria in S. Sudan.

You provided five mosquito nets to five families who their children who are often falling ill due to mosquito bites. The kits are not often sick because they sleep under a net.

The villagers acknowledge your concern to protect them from malaria glue and in particular - children who will benefit the most!

Malaria is a great killer of in Africa and, in particular, South Sudan with poor health care facility. Together let us fight malaria. 4 out of 6 kits die from malaria weekly in South Sudan. The cause of death is that most rural health posts have no equipment to test diseases. In a developed nations no child can die from a similar illness.

The cause has not pulled donors as we had anticipated, even it is a life-saving initiative. However, Hope Ofiriha remains confident that GlobalGiving donors will provide a microscope to the needy soon.

We will be posting you a new field up in the second quarter, so you get to know the positive contribution your gift is creating from a ground.
