Progress report and thanks to all our donorrs and The GG. Team.

Work has been on a steady progress as funds are being disbursed.  With the disbursement of up to September 30th, 2010, we were able to make up and a Trip of River Sand was bought and transported to the site.  We have also received the Match funds and have added more Sand and looking forward to the acquisition of a few bags of cement to start making the decking block.  As you can see from the attached pictures, we want to do the decking by March and we are facing a challenge of buying more sand and cement, Iron rods just to cover the top.  We are at 65% because of your wonderful support.

We have been following the rules of the GG by way of making sure that funds are directed only to the project earmarked for. We are delighted to inform all our Donors that our students (OVCs), Care givers, Board members and volunteers  are highly committed to the project.  With your continues support we are expecting to complete by 2011,

Thank you very much for your recommendations and continues support   enhance the education of OVCs in this part of the world.

May God bless you for joining our cause

September Update

Latest stage
Latest stage

We’d like to thank our latest donors for their contribution to our project. We have reached the sum of $1,650. The construction project resumed and the final beams and pillars were completed. With technical advice the remaining work was prioritized and a total of 160 timbers were sawed and transported to the site to be used for decking. Work continued with the production of concrete (gravel) which shall be used for the decking.

The Youth Centre has been transformed into the School of Management, Accountancy and Computer Studies, since a divisional authorization has been granted and a technical report was issued by the Divisional Delegation of Employment and Vocational Training to the Ministry for Ministerial Confirmation.

Identification of OVCs continued, and we were able to enroll 12 OVC pupils within the current intake. We need sponsors for these children in terms of educational materials and participation fee.

If you know anyone who could help us in meeting our goal of offering a stable education to these disadvantaged pupils please forward the following link so they can also donate. Thank you again for your support.

Project Report

Students involved in constructuction
Students involved in constructuction

We’d like to thank everyone who supported our recent ‘Provide Education for 100 orphans in Cameroon’ campaign. We managed to raise the sum of $1460, and although this didn’t meet the $5000 needed to complete our school construction, it is a major step towards its completion. It has also earned us a permanent place on the GlobalGiving site, which offers people the opportunity to continue donating towards this project. The money raised is being used to buy cement and iron poles to begin the construction of the roof section of our building. In order to complete the first phase we still need to raise the remaining funds, and then we can begin to look towards using the building as a permanent school. This will allow us to move from our existing location and will relieve us of the rents we are currently paying. This money can then be redirected towards enrolling more OVC pupils. At present 50% of the school body is made up of OVC pupils, our aim is to increase this by 50 extra OVC pupils within the new September intake.

Students are happy to be involved in the construction of their new school (see photo). If you know anyone who could help us in meeting our goal of offering a stable education to these disadvantaged pupils please forward the following link so they can also donate. Thank you again for your support.
