Dear AfricAid supporters,
Thank you for your generous support of our program to enable Tanzanian girls to attend secondary school via scholarships. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and we wish you and your family a wonderful holiday!
Secondary school attendance and matriculation is a problem for girls in Tanzania as only 5% of girls now graduate from secondary school (the equivalent of high school in the U.S.) This prevents the girls from having choices and living rich, rewarding lives and holds the quality of living down across the country.
Your investment in girls' education in Tanzania gives these bright, determined young women a chance to be independent and become leaders, showing other young Tanzanian girls what is possible.
We're half way to our goal and know we will get there in 2013. Asante sana! (thank you),
I'm writing to thank you for your very generous support of our teacher training program in Tanzania. We are thankful for your generosity and wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season!
Our teacher training program, TIA, is an annual program that brings teachers from all over Tanzania together to share, learn, and become better, more effective teachers. They learn how to best manage large classrooms with varied class levels and how to use commonly available natural items as teaching aids.
Supporting teacher training is a great investment as it develops and supports teachers, while helping thousands of young children to receive a better education. I can't think of a better gift to give this time of the year.
Asante sana (thank you),
Thank you so much for your support of teacher training scholarships in Tanzania. We're very grateful and wish you and your family a wonderful holiday.
In Tanzania, many young girls wish to become teachers but simply lack the funds for the training. Supporting teacher training maximizes the impact of our support as it helps the young teacher to find a profession and means of support, and it helps hundreds of young Tanzanian students receive an education. Our scholarship recipients have gone on to become teachers at all different level and several are the first from their villages! Currently we are supporting 11 young women in teacher training school. Four of them will graduate in February 2013. Our goal is add four more young women so we're supporting 15 in total in 2013.
We're nearly to our goal, thanks to you.
