Founded in 1988, Rabbis for Human Rights (RHR) is the only Israeli rabbinic organization explicitly dedicated to issues of human rights. Bound by the principle that all human beings are created in God's Image, RHR believes that Israel can and must live up to the Jewish values and Zionist ideals recorded in Israel's Declaration of Independence: to protect human rights and fulfill the prophetic vision of Israel as a nation based on freedom, justice, and peace.
