Partners for Haitian Children

Founded in 2006, PHC supports community-based institutions which educate vulnerable Haitian children so that they can reach their potential and become builders of a new Haiti where justice and peace thrive. Currently, PHC partners with the Haitian Congregation, the Little Sisters of St. Theresa (PSST), an indigenous Haitian congregation which has been serving the poorest of the poor in Haiti since 1948 and enjoys the trust of the communities where it operates. The education that they provide stresses values and ethics such as dignity of each person, respect for life and sense of the common good.
Head Start for 230 Pre-School Children in Haiti

This project supports improvement of early childhood education (ECE) for 230 at risk children in Haiti's Artibonite Valley. It will provide teachers' training, hiring of teachers' aides, and pedagogical materials that further the children's physical, cognitive, and social development. It will also support the rehabilitation of a courtyard for a safer environment for the children. project reportread updates from the field

HOYAS: Give a book, empower a Haitian girl.

Vanessa is six, and her life has changed for the better since her arrival to the orphanage. Today, she is healthy, friendly, and loves school. A book can shape Vanessa's life. It can nurture her imagination and encourage her dreams for a better future. Like Vanessa, there are other 48 girls in the orphanage, and not one has ever owned a book. Help us get each girl a book and potentially create a library in the orphanage. These books can reinforce their education and let their imagination fly. project reportread updates from the field
Emergency Food Situation in School

This situation is an emergency. Our partner organization has been attacked directly, and this year the government stopped providing daily hot meals for the children-for most their only meal of the day. As the principal of the school stated, "now that this aid has ceased, the children are truly hungry and many suffer from abdominal pain or head ache." On an empty stomach, the children cannot concentrate and learn properly. We need YOUR HELP to provide the children with daily hot meals. project reportread updates from the field
