Founded in late 2007 to aid in the fight against childhood obesity, Chicago Run is a nonprofit organization that operates and supports free running programs for children and youth in Chicago. The organization's mission is to promote the health and wellness of Chicago children through innovative, engaging, and sustainable youth running programs. The vision of Chicago Run is to enhance the health and well-being of every child in the city of Chicago through running. Chicago Run currently serves 13,400 students in 55 Chicago Public Schools in 32 neighborhoods across the city. 89% of students qualify for the federal free/reduced lunch program.
