Programs

GlobeMed at UVA is partnered with the Build Your Future Today Center based in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The orphanage center serves as a base for various nutrition and health projects in the surrounding villages. The collaborative project is the Safe Child and Mother Care project to improve the health and literacy of children in the village of Arak Svyak. This project is aimed at improving the health of the critically malnourished children currently living in the village. The project involves 3 goals of eliminating malnutrition in children under 5, improving maternal education, and reducing the number of children repeating the first grade. Daily feeding programs will eliminate malnutrition in children under 5. Regular maternal health classes will improve the education of mothers in the village. Establishing the early child education and care center will vastly improve the quality of pre-school education in the village.
