At the time, the Internet was very different, it was difficult to find information and reassurance. She discovered the blog of an American journalist who was going through this struggle, and decided to create one in French to connect patients and relatives and share testimonies. The success was immediate, and progressively a community was formed, with a hard core that created an association. At a time when 1 person in 20 is affected by or at risk of kidney failure, which is becoming the 5th leading cause of premature death in the world, Renaloo is committed to enabling each person to pursue or rebuild his or her life project in the face of the disease, by taking action every day in the fields of solidarity, public health policies and innovation. The association develops many actions to carry its values as effectively as possible: - Empowerment : Information and support for people living with kidney disease, dialysis, transplantation, most often with heavy consequences for their daily lives, and for their relatives, - Defense of their rights and interests, participating in the evolution of the health system, - Creating and disseminating knowledge from patients' & caregivers' experiences. Renaloo's actions, carried out by volunteers and supported by a team of employees, have a unique objective: to improve the quality of care and life of patients and their relatives.
