Are you interested in representing GlobalGiving in your country? Would you like to help GlobalGiving think strategically about the communities that you work in around the world? Apply to become a GlobalGiving Ambassador! Selected individuals will foster and grow the nonprofit community in their country through activities such as hosting workshops and information sessions, meet-ups of local GlobalGiving partners, attending meetings with our Strategic Partners, writing blog posts, attending conferences, and conducting visits and meetings. What is the Country Ambassador Program?
In 2017, the Program will identify and train up to 4 Ambassadors to represent GlobalGiving in their country for one year (April 2017 - March 2018). Selected individuals will have the opportunity to participate in an intensive online training for two weeks, where they will learn everything they need to answer frequently asked questions about GlobalGiving’s project entry system, campaigns, corporate partnerships, and more.
This year, applicants from the following countries are eligible to apply:
Selected individuals will complete activities such as:
Commit to act as GlobalGiving’s Ambassador in your country for one year.
Be available to attend 20 hours of online training over a two week period in April. This training is recorded and includes homework assignments to be completed throughout the course.
Host at least 4 Online Fundraising workshops throughout the country about the value and principles of online fundraising and to support organizations interested in learning more about GlobalGiving.
Organize and host at least 2 GlobalGiving workshops of existing GlobalGiving partners in your country. Ambassadors will be eligible for reimbursement for costs directly associated with the meet ups
Complete GlobalGiving’s “country memo” for the country in which you live. This “country memo” includes information on the nonprofit sector in the country and any other insight the Ambassador may have
Offer at least 2 hours per quarter in virtual or by phone one-on-one consultations for GlobalGiving partners on a topic of your choice
Participate in and assist in managing the GlobalGiving local WhatsApp group (were applicable).
Write and post blogs about GlobalGiving and the nonprofit sector in your community.
Have the option to visit local GlobalGiving partners to earn rewards points and gain valuable monitoring and evaluation skills
To be eligible for the Ambassador Program, you must:
Live and work in one of the countries listed above. The main objective of this program is to extend GlobalGiving’s representation outside of the U.S (where GlobalGiving’s office is based) and think more strategically in locations where we have many nonprofit partners or many interested nonprofits.
Work for an organization that has been successfully using GlobalGiving’s site for AT LEAST three months.
Preference will be given to individuals who have been active and engaged on GlobalGiving, are Leaders or Superstars, and who have experience working with nonprofit networks in their country.
GlobalGiving Country Ambassadors will benefit from:
A $1,000 grant from GlobalGiving for the Ambassador’s organization at the completion of the Ambassador Program.
In depth training about online fundraising and GlobalGiving. During the two-week training, you will gain a deeper understanding of the benefits and challenge of online fundraising from the experts in the DC office.
Networking opportunities in your region with GlobalGiving partners and connections.
Funding to host workshops for other organizations in your country and to attend conferences to represent GlobalGiving. Ambassadors have the chance to contribute to the growth of local nonprofit networks by providing networking opportunities at workshops and meet-ups.
The opportunity to build relationships with and learn best practices from other GlobalGiving partners through site visits and meetings.
