Strategic Giving Associate

The Growth Team has a goal of creating meaningful connections with donors and drive funding toward our community of nonprofit partners. You will be responsible for helping to ensure major donors are supported, information is recorded and updated, and related administrative tasks as identified. You'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of donors, philanthropic agents, global nonprofits, and internal partners.

Primary Responsibilities

In this role, the Strategic Giving Associate works with the Growth team to maintain current relationships with major donors, cultivate and close new donations benefiting our thousands of nonprofit partners around the world as well as support GlobalGiving’s operations.

The Strategic Giving Associate will be responsible for streamlining processes, data management, donor research and support. The Associate will have the ability to multitask, prioritize, work across teams, and be flexible and willing to work on a wide variety of tasks.

In this role, you will will work on a variety of projects and tasks such as:

  • Using Google, iWave, and various databases to research our most generous supporters in order to identify and create high-value engagement opportunities.
  • You will research and thank donors who give to GlobalGiving or any of the thousands of nonprofits featured on GlobalGiving as the first step toward building relationships with them.
  • Recording research findings, ensuring consistent, accurate, and organized records of Major Donors and prospects and their activity exists in CRM and other systems.
  • Answering questions, supporting major donors and their stakeholders about donations and/or supporting their giving by email, phone, and video call.
  • Project manage the team’s response to disasters, coordinating across other GlobalGiving teams and keeping in communication with other teams.
  • Support donors of all sizes by executing activities such as invoicing, reporting, as well as small grant or vetting programs for donors in partnership with a colleague.
  • Translate internal and external Growth and Major Donors needs into actionable requests for Marketing, Communications, Operations, and Product teams.
  • Support donor outreach and relationship management efforts by cultivating new leads as well as helping the team with proposals, content creation, research, meetings by phone, video, and in-person.
  • Create and deliver quantitative and qualitative reports using Salesforce, Excel, Metabase, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. impact reports, grant reports, donation reports, etc).

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year or more experience required in areas such as customer service, business development, fundraising preferably in a nonprofit or business setting.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task under a deadline, with great productivity and attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate ideas effectively, to listen to others' ideas, and to collaborate to arrive at great solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously (after training) with minimal management oversight and be comfortable taking initiative and managing their time effectively.
  • Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit and positive attitude. Must be able to be flexible/adaptable
  • Comfort and enthusiasm about working in an fast-paced environment and with a diverse and high-energy team.

Salary range: $50k-$55k

Location

This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager of Strategic Giving. This role can either be based in GlobalGiving’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. or operate remotely. If you intend to apply as a remote-worker, be prepared to speak about your experience with remote employment in the recruitment process and your ability to primarily work at times that overlap with US/Eastern Time.

In efforts to safeguard the health of our employees and their families, GlobalGiving requires all employees to adhere to the GlobalGiving Vaccination Mandate policy upon their start date. New employees will be required to be fully vaccinated upon their start date, if expected to work from the office. New employees working remotely who will have occasional contact with the office and/or co-workers will also be required to be fully vaccinated.
