GlobalGiving’s Evaluation Programme trains skilled volunteers to become Project Evaluators, who will visit overseas organisations for a period of 2-10 weeks between June and November 2018. We are looking for talented people with prior work experience in any industry, willing to travel to amazing places around the world and offer their invaluable skills to the local organisations we partner with.
Project Evaluators will visit each organisation for 4 days and work collaboratively with them to complete an in-depth organisational assessment. Evaluators will share their experience via social media channels in order to promote the organisations’ work to new audiences, as well as provide them with access to relevant peer learning networks, professional training and resources.
Working closely with amazing organisations in the field will allow Evaluators to use their experience, specific technical and soft skills in new environments. Evaluators will also develop their teamwork, time management and communications skills and build an understanding of how international development works in practice.

GlobalGiving is an award winning digital charity and the largest global crowdfunding community connecting nonprofits, donors, and companies in nearly every country. We focus on local solutions to global problems. GlobalGiving challenges traditional aid dynamics and offers access to funding, skilled volunteering and practical training for smaller organisations.
Since its inception 4 years ago, the Evaluation Programme has helped GlobalGiving visit and support over 100 partners. The programme fosters closer relationships with project leaders and ensures robust assessments of the organisations’ transparency and effectiveness. It also identifies training and support needs and improves the organisations’ communications with current and prospective donors by enhancing essential marketing materials displayed on the GlobalGiving platform.
Project Evaluators will visit each nonprofit for 4 days and work with them to complete an in-depth organisational assessment in areas including past and projected impact, financial transparency, governance, staff and volunteer development, fundraising, networking and administration. This will involve interviews with staff, volunteers and beneficiaries, as well as desk-based research. Findings and recommendations must be captured in a professional and comprehensive Audit Report that will be sent to the organisation after the visit.

The Evaluation Programme is designed for skilled, passionate, proactive and positive UK residents, 21 years and above. We encourage applicants from all professional backgrounds and work experiences to apply. We are looking for people with some travel experience who want to challenge themselves, learn new skills and dive head-first into an overseas adventure!

For a 2-10 week placement, the minimum project contribution is £700, which covers the cost of recruitment, training and running the programme. The total cost, however, will ultimately depend on the length of the placement and which country you are based in.
