GlobalGiving’s first-ever International Women’s Week will run from Monday, March 8, at 0:00:00 ET through Friday, March 12, at 23:59:59 ET. In honor of International Women’s Day, this campaign will feature GlobalGiving’s nonprofit partners working with women and girls around the world.
During the week of March 8, two campaigns will be live on GlobalGiving: International Women’s Week and the March Little by Little Matching Campaign. The matching structure for both campaigns is the exact same, however, no project can be in both. Projects submitted and accepted into International Women’s Week will be included in International Women’s Week. All other eligible projects will be automatically placed in Little by Little.
Disbursement of funds raised and awarded in this campaign will be included in the usual monthly disbursement process.
All Partner, Leader, and Superstar organizations, with the exception of Indian-banked organizations, are invited to submit one project to be featured in this campaign.
Submit one project for consideration by Friday, Feb. 5. Applicants will hear back from GlobalGiving on the status of their application no later than Friday, Feb. 12. GlobalGiving will accept projects that uplift women and girls in their community and advance gender equality.
For projects accepted, the deadline for submitting project appeals, project reports, and project edits associated with this campaign is Wednesday, March 3.
During International Women’s Week, all eligible donations up to $50 per unique donor per organization will be matched at 50% for as long as the campaign is live. Matching funds will be available throughout the entire five-day campaign.
Unique donors are determined using numerous criteria, including name, email address, credit card number, mailing address, and IP address. We are monitoring these and other parameters in our system to ensure that only distinct donors are counted.
For the purposes of calculating matching amounts, donations made in other currencies will be converted to USD. The exchange rate will be estimated at the time of the donation, but may be subject to change until the donation settles with the donor’s bank or credit card. Funds will be disbursed using the exchange rate based on the settlement value of each transaction.
GlobalGiving reserves the right to make final decisions on all matters concerning the allocation of matching funds.
GlobalGiving’s 100% Monthly Match is also available to the GlobalGiving nonprofit community for all of 2021, and this includes International Women’s Week. New monthly donations set up during this week will be eligible for both matches: the immediate 50% match (up to $50) and, a one-time 100% match(up to $200) after four monthly payments. Online donations (credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and individually purchased GlobalGiving gift cards) and mobile donations through M-Changa will count towards your total raised during International Women’s Week.
Donations must be made by the account or credit card holder.
Cash, check, corporate gift card redemptions, CAF check, CAF Online, wire transfers, text-to-give donations, donations made via JustGiving, donations made on a GlobalGiving corporate or organizational giving site, or donations made directly to an organization rather than a project.
Please note that all donations are final. GlobalGiving cannot change the time, date, or status of a donation after it is processed for any reason.
Any activity not in the spirit of requesting separate individuals to support donations is being moderated by GlobalGiving and GlobalGiving reserves the right to permanently disqualify organizations for any attempts of misconduct.
GlobalGiving is a registered nonprofit charity in the United States and England and Wales. Donations made by eligible donors in the United States can be claimed as tax deductible contributions on United States tax returns. Donations made by eligible donors in the United Kingdom can claim Gift Aid (an extra 25% added to eligible donations by the UK Government) when they donate in GBP.
GlobalGiving charges a minimal nonprofit support fee plus a 3% processing fee. For US and UK registered organizations, the nonprofit support fee is 5%; for organizations outside the US and UK, it is 7%. During the International Women’s Day Campaign, the fee only applies to the initial donation and not to bonus prizes or matching funds earned. The fee helps cover the costs we incur to promote your organization and projects, to provide you with fundraising training and tools, and to maintain and improve our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors.
