Poverty

Poverty is the major issue in Mathare and it make people live in poor shelter and environment. Although people are poor but life must continue and they have hopes that one day their life change to a better level.They ensure that atleast they make some money in a day to support their families and buy basic needs. The residents are used to poverty but they are always praying, working hard and hoping that one day in life they will be better off.The government of kenya provide food,education to children in various schools so that they could learn and not miss classes due to hunger.Because of the population of the children highly, there is need for more support from volunteers, churches and even organizations.
