Food Security

The community of Esikulu continued to face challeges in their farming process.Many farmers faced problems of prolonged drought which caused poor yields that challeged farmers to identify an alternative food source. the local organization that was involved in providing services in food security. took some steps to organize the community and invite other relevant stakeholders to discuss this challeges. All the villagers includung the women, men and the youth attended the meeting.other people including the area chief and his assistants, the ministry of agriculture. The community raised their problems of food insecurity in the village and looking ways of solving the problem, they came up with causes of problems as being poor skills and traditional beliefs. Yes we used plants without applying any manure but managed to get enough yields.one of the villagers states. As agreed a 3 day training was conducted to provide training in promoting of drought, early maturing and disease resistant cropranties. The harvest was improved.
