Please tell a story about a time when a person or organization tried to help someone or change something in your community:

Human Rights

Human rights are often not very well taken into consideration especially in areas where people are considered to be less fortunate in terms of exposure and general information. In Mathare, most residents are not aware of their rights and they end up being mistreated and even mishandled by some authorities. For example the right to education is rarely known to residents, apart from education the residents seem not to know of their right to good medication and medical facilities. This prompted the government to create a commission which would work on how to teach and inform the residents of their rights which they would then use to ask for better services from the government.Although this is a step forward more still need to be done to ensure that everything gets to know of his/her rights.
