Community Development

There was a community that lived in scarcity of water and women, school children suffered greatly and their performance in school was affectedto lack of the commodity in the institution. Most of the children wasted their time out of school fetching for water. Contaminated water due to water born diseases caused many deaths and illness and hence poverty in the area. An organization came in with objective of reduction of poverty through water and sanitation program and in areas which are below poverty line and to work with such communities. A partner organization came and mobilized the communities, conducted P.R.A(Participation Rural Appraisal and trained communities to discover their own needs. The project was funded halfway and community contribution was to be realized in order to get their own the project. Water and Sanitation facilities were implemented in schools and springs in the community and now the need for water to save time was at least realized and now children don't waste time fetching water during school time. Water born diseases reduced. Thanks.
