Water For Development

Our land in Muthengeri area of Nyahururu district is very fertile and would support agriculture if only we could have water fro irrigation. Right now there is a severe drought and vegetation has dried up resulting in severe hunger to both animals and people. As we waited in vain for the rains, a good Samaritan came in our area and introduced himself. He told us he would assist us solve part of our problems. He showed us how to locate underground water using wires and have since then learnt how to do it and some of us have already dug the wells. Others have not been able to do it because of the difficulties encountered when digging such hard rock penetration while others due to financial difficulties. Some of us are now able to irrigate small pieces of land for vegetables.
