Kenya was among the 189- unimember state that adopted the Beijing declaration and platfrom for African action at the fourth world confrences on gender equality development and peace in Beijing on September 15,1995, Kenyans also joined the 190 member of state of un in adaption the millenium declaration in 2000 there commiting her self to addressing the equal rights and opportunities of women and men , combating all forms of discrimination/violence against women and implementing the convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women. All these instruments reinforce each other and facilitate the implemetion of the 12 critical areas of the Beijing platform. Among those twelve critical areas concern is the involvement of woman in national peace building processes as well as their active participation at all levels of decision making including their voice. Our last finding from our research and planning team has revealed that in all Kenyan government employment only 52 percent copmprise of women population in Kenya and play a key significant in social and economic development of these nation.
