Tree Planting

one the major activities that help combat climate change is tree planting. trees are very resourceful to the life natural environment. they are a source of firewood, they balance the carbon cycle. in addition, they act as windbreakers and they make the scenery beautiful and appearing to the eye. in koibarak region situated on the slopes of nandi hills,there are times where the community around and the neighborhood experiences strong winds these winds were very destructive in that they used to destroying crops, blow away roots of people houses and even cause destruction in farm structures in 2005, mr edward nisara encouraged the community members to plant trees which could act as wind breakers during the strong period. though faced either many challenges, the determined teacher spearheaded the planing of many trees in this community six years later the trees are mature and serve the right purpose in the community. people obtained firewood from the trees and their leaves are used as organic manure in the farms. the trees also insist in construction of house and they are also used as electric poles in the rural electrification project.
