Each year of YEA Camp — and this is our SIXTH, OMG! — feels like the best. Maybe that’s because it’s closest in our memory, but it’s probably because the camp just gets better and better every year… which we didn’t actually think was possible!!
It’s tough to describe 3 epic life-changing, world-changing weeks in 1 report, so check out our blog post with our top 10 highlights here.
YEA Camp is for teens who want to make a difference in the world - and it is through the actions campers take after camp that we can see the fruits of our labor. In the short time since camp ended this summer, we have seen campers start school environmental clubs, rally at the State Capitol, launch fundraisers, organize film screenings, coordinate and attend protests, get healthier options in their school cafeteria, and so much more.
Campers tell us that most of these accomplishments wouldn't have happened without YEA Camp, and we want you to know that YEA Camp wouldn't happen without your support.
We'll be announcing our 2015 dates soon, and you can track our campers' accomplishments through our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Thank you again for your support!
Dear YEA Camp supporters,
Tomorrow is the first day of our staff training for our first of 3 YEA Camp sessions this summer, and as we pack up our supplies for camp, I am struck by my gratitude for all of you who help make YEA Camp happen. Thanks to you, we are about to embark on our sixth summer, and we are poised to make this our best ever. You can follow everything we do on Facebook - so if you don't already "like us," please do!
This summer we certainly have our best staff yet. Bringing together incredible staff members from around the country, these are some of the best role models change-making teens could ask for. Our staff have master's degrees in teaching, are founders of nonprofit organizations, and have many years of experience advocating for various social justice causes. Our team has expertise in advancing social justice through theater, political campaigns, art, and many other innovative means. To learn more and be inspired by our amazing staff, visit our Staff Bios page.
Our campers are as incredible as ever, too! With campers from over a dozen states and Mexico, we will be training some of the most ambitious and compassionate teenagers on the planet who really want to change the world. Choosing to address critically important issues including climate change, bullying, gun control, animal protection, gay rights, and many others, YEA Campers leave camp with so much more confidence and clarity to make a difference on a cause they care about.
Thanks to donations like yours to our scholarship fund, we have provided about half of our campers with some need-based scholarship so that they can attend camp. We cannot thank you enough for helping to make it possible for these amazing young people to come to YEA Camp, and we promise to honor your donation and their time by giving all of our best to ensure that each camper has a transformative experience that catalyzes them in their future activism. Any additional support that you are able to offer at this time will help us fund our deposits on our camp venues for next year and our long-term growth!
A reminder that if you don't already, please follow and share what we are up to on Facebook and in our e-newsletter. And if you know a young person who you think would be perfect for YEA Camp, please share our website with them! We are about to start camp in Oregon, but there is still time to register for our camps in California and Massachusetts.

We're thrilled to report that thanks to more than 70 people donating, we've met the minimum target and have earned a permanent spot on GlobalGiving! Thank you so much for your contributions, for sharing our posts, and for telling your friends and family about our work! We cannot do this without you!
While we met our minimum goal for this challenge, this does not cover our costs to be able to grow in the way we have planned for 2014, so if you haven't already, please share our link with friends and family to make a tax-deductible year-end gift today & help us meet our bigger goal of raising $10,000.
With your help, 2014 will be our best year yet! Some things we have in store:
These things do cost money, though, and your donation will be a huge help to make our goals possible. Donations to YEA Camp are fully tax-deductible and are a great way to invest in a wonderful 2014! Whether you are a camper, parent, staff member, volunteer, donor, or anyone else following what we do, thank you again so much for helping to make our world a more compassionate place filled with young people creating the world they wish to live in.
We hope you will continue to follow us in the new year by subscribing to our e-newsletter, following our blog or liking us on Facebook!Best wishes for 2014!Nora, Laura, and the YEA Camp family
Dear YEA Camp supporters, Thank you so much for your love and support of our work with youth activists! We are over halfway done with our fundraising challenge -- with only 14 days to go -- and we are inching closer to the halfway mark of our minimum fundraising goal to earn a permanent spot here on globalgiving. We could use your help and support in getting the word out to others about our challenge to meet our goal!
If you know somone who you think would love our work, please share our page with them. One of our supporters has even created a raffle with great prizes where you can purchase your raffle tickets right here on globalgiving. For more information about the raffle prizes, see here http://yeacamp.org/?page_id=1380, then donate on globalgiving to be entered in the raffle!
Again, thank you so much for your support and we look forward to updating you when we successfully (with your help!) reach our goal!Warm regards,
Laura Carver, Assistant Director
