The Hari camp is a place of landless tenant farmers released from landlord's jails and are now residing in a camp near Sikandrabad Kotri. Urgent support is needed for 500 young women and young girls.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The Young Women and young girls of the area are illiterate, poor and vulnerable. They resort to laborer work in nearby factories where they find low salaries and face difficult situations. Young girls are not financially able to attend school. Most of the families are formerly tenant farmers and have recently been released from the jails of landlords. They do not have basic facilities of water, sanitation or girls' primary schools,
How will this project solve this problem?
Through this project women and young girls from poor families will be trained & skilled in order to secure their future. Poor young women will be able to earn income for their families.
Potential Long Term Impact
About 60 women will be given sewing machines and will be able to earn income. An additional 60 women will be trained through the women's sewing center. The poor communities will be able to save their income and earn at their household level.
