Provide safe water to Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake on 1.12.10. Sustainable, solar-powered systems purify water and will be redeployed into communities for long-term use after the disaster.
Safe water is a critical and urgent need in the aftermath of any disaster. Existing water sources become contaminated, people are squeezed into refugee camps and temporary housing, sanitation is poor or non-existent and the threat of wide-spread disease becomes a daily burden. Those affected by the earthquake in Haiti will have access to clean water.
Install solar-powered Living Water Treatment Systems in the areas affected by the earthquake. Each system will provide up to 10,000 gallons of safe water per day, enough for 5,000 people. Systems will transition into long-term community development.
Systems will transition into long-term community development projects. Providing villages of up to 3,000 people each with sustainable access to safe water and health and hygiene training.
