The Enviro Loo is a dry sanitation system made in South Africa, exported internationally. 3 billion people do not have access to fresh water and sanitation. Funding will mass-produce the system.
The entire world needs a new innovative, hygienic and functional sanitation system that does not pollute the environment. It must satisfy the dignity of the users. It must require minimal operational and maintenance expenses. The traditional waterborne systems cannot meet this specification. Mankind can no longer afford the luxury of using drinking water to transport human body waste to a place of treatment.
The unit can be installed by the local population and maintained by the community. It does not use water or chemicals, and treats human waste with non-harmful bacteria. It gains power from the sun and the wind.
Early research showed that sewage effluent pollutes the Earth’s groundwater supplies, rivers and lakes. I developed a sanitation system that does not use water and, if used correctly, does not contaminate the local water supply.
