Much of his research work has been sponsored by the South African Water Research Commission. He was appointed as a consultant to the SA Dept of Water Affairs and the SA meat industry to stabilise animal waste. Brian utilized bacterial and biological technology plus experience gained in research and development of waste management to development the Enviro Loo dry sanitation system.
