School going Kenyan girls in Kisii District lack basic water and sanitation facilities for their hygiene.Through provision of the sanitary wares and hygiene training more girls will learn
Project addresses the girl child absenteeism from school more so during menstruation periods due to exposed toilets, disease incidence such as diarrhoea and typhoid and high student drop out rates. Perfomance in SMT (Science and Mathematics) subjects to all school going children with focus on the girl child is improved. The project seeks to reign in high rates of girl absenteeism and dropping out of school and eventually ensure more girls enroll and learn
We'll provide required toilets at ratio 1:25 for girls;1:30 for boys, hand-wash, water tanks and sanitary facilities, then train on use and hygiene girls will stay at school, infections will decline and more pupils will finish school
12000 children, mostly poor rural girls, poor performance of girls in SMT subjects, school dropout, prevention of water and hygiene related diseases including typhoid; achieving access to primary education for all, key millennium development goals.
'Kwetu kuna maisha mbele mulipotupatia vyoo, maji and mafunzo.Ningekuwa nishaondoka shule!'
(For us, there is future once you provided toilets, water and training. By now I would be out of school)
