Mission

Global Grassroots is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports social innovation for the wellbeing of women genocide survivors worldwide. First, we train grassroots women’s groups to use social entrepreneurship as a tool to address their social ills. Second, we invest in the start-up of their social ventures. We then offer 12 months of high-engagement support for these change leaders to initiate their ideas. Last, we engage in campaigns to raise awareness of critical women’s issue

Programs

In 2005, Global Grassroots launched its work in the refugee camps of Eastern Chad among refugees from Darfur, Sudan. In 2006, Global Grassroots expanded its program among widowed genocide survivors and sexual assault victims with HIV in Kigali, Rwanda.
