Winter has bring challenge to Serve organization when our team visit to slums area. Due to lack of warm clothing children are suffering from common cold and other effects of cold. Major group of children are below 16 years. Serve organization has planned to provide them warm clothing and blankets along with medicine in the shape of winter kit. This kit will help them to survive in this cold winter. This initiative will save the life of 230 children living in slums of Faisalabad, Pakistan.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Climate change bring radical change in the environment. Due to cold many of the children living in slums are getting sick day by day. "About 80 per cent of slums in Faisalabad district children are badly affected by winter. Living in open shed make this situation more sober. Recent visit to target area shows us figure of common cold, flu and other viral infections. Situation is getting worse day by day. Moreover due to lack of warm clothing newly born babies suffer from cough and fever
How will this project solve this problem?
Serve organization will provide warm clothing to children with blankets and necessary medicine. Winter kit/pack will be made for each children. According to our donation raised on global giving and other sources this kit will be designed. Secondly their shed will be repaired from local donations. This project will provide children a chance to survive in this winter.
Potential Long Term Impact
This project will affect 230 children living in slums of Faisalabad District. Major beneficiaries are below 16 year of age with no discrimination in gender, cast and religion.
