Vocational Training Project Update

By Karen Sparacio | Director

Working hard in design class
Working hard in design class

Thanks to your generous support of our spring campaign to extend Project Have Hope’s vocational training program, eight women are currently enrolled in life-changing educational opportunities.

Abalo Florence is one of the women now studying designing.  She is so grateful for this opportunity:

Project Have Hope helped to train me and helped me start my tailoring business in 2009. Business is going well, but I want to have greater skills than other tailors in my community so that I can get even more customers.  Now, with the help of Project Have Hope, I am taking design class. I really enjoy design class because it makes me a better
tailor. I want to keep learning and growing. Since I opened my tailoring shop, I have been able to buy a new house and help my sister pay her children's school fees. I no longer have to work in the stone quarry. My workshop is in my house now, but it is my dream to make my new house a full workshop and buy a new house for the family separate
from the business. I want my business to grow big, big, and bigger!

With these new skills and Florence’s hard work and dedication she is able to lay the ground work for continued success and give her family the opportunity to do the same.  She is a role model in her community
and an inspiration to all of us.  To support Florence and other ambitious entrepreneurs to receive loans upon graduation and create an independent, sustainable future, visit our project page.

Thank you for all you have done for these women and Project Have Hope. Their lives would not be same without your generous support. Please help us inspire more women with the knowledge that will help them pull their families out of poverty by making a donation today.
