Mahantesh himself is visually impaired and with the aim to empower the disabled and lesser privileged, started 'Samarthanam- Trust for the Disabled' back in 1997 and ever since there has been no looking back. So far, Samarthanam has supported and nurtured 1300 children with disability. He Represented India in the World Blind Cricket Councils' Conference held at Cape Town, South Africa in 1997.
