Send US volunteers to go overseas with CUSO-VSO. Currently 49 Americans are in developing countries to work side-by-side with partner organizations to achieve their organizational & development goals.
In spite of the obstacles facing them, people in every corner of the developing world are building better futures for their communities. Our volunteers work side-by-side with these committed citizens to make this positive change happen. They are matched to placements that meet the direct requests of our overseas partners. Lasting change requires not just a financial investment, but also a human investment. That’s why CUSO-VSO shares skills, and changes lives.
Volunteers focus on developing ability over delivering service, although some deliver service: doctors, nurses and teachers. 6 key goal areas: HIV&AIDS, Health, Education, Disability, Participation & Governance, Secure Livelilihoods.
Our overseas volunteers promote global citizenship, by building bridges across geographic and cultural borders; the volunteer experience is often just the start of a life-long journey of involvement in international development.
