Map of POSITIVE LIVING Jenifah Owilo currently am stating in Kisumu district but am always happy about my life. I'm HIV affected person. I thought my life was over when I got the news that I was HIV +, my parents didnt accept me to there home. I was so much affected but I had a friend who helped me so much. He introduced me to a group called KENWA. They took me in & gave me tips to live with the disease and also treated me by undergoing check ups on a daily basis, by giving me ARVs . I am so encouraged, currently, I've employed in a firm in town (Kisusmu) and am helping people who are in the same position I was. Read more.

Kick Malaria Out

Malaria is a number on killer disease in the Subsaharan Africa today.This comprises of Kenya and especially the Western of coastal regions. This is so because the areas are prone to heavy rainfall during the winter. Many people in the villages do not keep their compounds clean by draining stagnant water which facilitate breeding hence high rate of malaria affected infections. Recently the Ministry of Health came up with an initiative where mosquitoes nets were distributed to every house hold members to help curd the malaria menace in the region. Combating Hiv/aids In Nyanza Province

Map of COMBATING HIV/AIDS IN NYANZA PROVINCE As Kisumu is well known for the most suffering province with an epidermic of HIV/AIDS. The government and the combination of the ministry of health sat down and formed a commission of inquiry to combat HIV/AIDS. They set a date and traveled to Kisumu to begin immediately to eradicate the believe about Kisumu that it is the leading city of people dying with HIV/AIDS. They set up billboards and postas all over the town warning about the dangers of HIV/AIDS.Carried, campaing and educated the people about HIV/AIDS. The ministry of health donated funds that helped to build VCT centers and hospital.Here people were going to known their status and how to continue living with HIV/AIDS. They also issued out ARV for free that helped a lot of people to survive. The organization helped to reduce the percentage of people dying for 75 to 50 %. Read more.

Clean Me Up Please

Map of CLEAN ME UP PLEASE Garbage depositing and collection has become a big and hard to cope with for the municipal council of Kakamega since its the body entrusted with responsibility and in its juridiction. The municipality has abandoned the responsibility and today garbage is thrown or heaped anywhere any time. The town is slowly becoming a garbage itself. Plies are allowed and its just dirty. The residents areas are most hit where most garbage is used compared to commercial apartments. Their is need of an urgent solution on those because the council is trying hard but overwhelmed since it doesnt have the capacity to manage those. Someone please give a helping hand. Read more.

The Poverty That Strikes.

In a community village at Og'ango where the high rate of famine and poverty case had been reported.The end result of research revealed that a number of villagers were illetrate hence they couldn't understand the family planning awareness wisely.High birth rate led to downfall in provision of basic commodities i.e food. The community Based Organisation (OLPS) our lady of perpetual support organized a one week event creating awareness to the villagers concerning the family planning matters.Economic upkeep programe to assist with income generating activities And from then henceforth the high rate level of poverty & famine has reduced tremedously as villagers celebrate iniatractive by the C.B.O. Spearheading Develpment Through Health Sensitization And Income Projects Set Up

The change range from opening up incoming generating activities like pineapple growing project through youth and other people work enabling them to earn a living. promoted community health through construction of pit latrines sensitizing on proper hygiene practices among others though more efforts are needed but successively has been drastically registered in certain villages. Map of An organisation helping to uplift the living standard of the people The vice chairperson of jisaidie support group,Mr jacob simwa is my father.I am happy for the work he is doing as a result of joining this group as it has really helped us as a family.As his daughter iam very happy that he chose to join a very helpful group which is a solution to all our problems.Before he joined it we found it hard as we could miss meals,clothes but since 2005 when he became a member and is its vice chairman,alot has changed we get the groups supprot through loans that change our self uplifting,income generating activities that increase our financial capacity.We had loans through our father to help buy animals and do farming investments which have graetly changed our shape.
