We are so grateful to have generous supporters like you!
In February, we reached our initial project goal of $10,000 thanks to your contributions! We've since decided to expand our GlobalGiving project goal by $5,000 for 2013. Every year, Tutorpedia Foundation receives applications from deserving low-income students who need extra support to succeed in school. In 2012, we received over 50 applications from students that we did not have the resources to support. With every $1000 raised, this ongoing project will provide a year's worth of free, one-on-one tutoring for one student with an exceptional tutor who can help him or her excel both academically and in everyday life.
About two weeks ago, on February 28th, Tutorpedia Foundation hosted Education By Design-- our third annual fundraiser and conversation on personalizing education at the Autodesk Gallery in San Francisco. The event featured a series of short talks by dynamic speakers focusing on the most effective methods we can use to make learning personal and customize education in real, relevant, and rigorous ways for all students.
Bianca, a high school senior and Tutorpedia Foundation scholarship recipient, spoke about the impact of her experience with her tutor, Aaron. Because of generous donors like you, Bianca has been able to work with Aaron over the last year and a half and during that time her goal of attending college has become attainable. To get a sense of the vision and scope of the Education By Design, watch our recap video on Youtube at http://youtu.be/U6CIYjaN01g. Please also check out the photo album we posted on our Facebook.
