Summary
Provide emergency supplies such as food, blankets, sheets, and fishing tools to villagers affected by tsunami.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The government has temporarily banned fishing in this area so residents need food aid and basic supplies to provide for their families.
How will this project solve this problem?
Teams will provide emergency food rations, blankets, and sheets for victims of the tsunami. In addition they will assist with evacuation efforts and repairing the nets and boats of villagers who rely on fishing for subsistence.
Potential Long Term Impact
Rations will be provided for 1,000 families and the equipment repairs will attempt to reach the 650 families that have lost their nets and boats in the disaster.
Project Message
This may be the worst natural disaster in recent history because it is affecting so many heavily populated coastal areas.
