The Trey Foote Foundation Scholarship was established to award a scholarship to a high School student who exemplifies the principles that Trey stood for, a love for life, living each day to its fullest and most importantly, making each day a good day. Trey's legacy was a simple message, forcing each of us to look in the mirror and ask ourselves one simple question: "Are we ready?" Are we ready to live life and to choose happiness amongst the most difficult circumstances?
Higher education is becoming more and more expensive and many middle class children are being left behind. There are many scholarships awarded exclusively based on economic status, academic results or athletic abilities. While all these things are considered the Trey Foote Foundation scholarship is awarded based on love of life and the genuine desire to give back to society. A desire to make the world a better place is the foremost quality the Foundation Board is looking for in a recipient.
The scholarship award does not limit qualification based on economic status, academic results or athletic ability but gainfully includes every child with varying talents, backgrounds, and skills.
The long term impact will be giving an opportunity to students to attend a college or university so that they can obtain the skills and education to give back to society. So far the Trey Foote Foundation has awarded scholarships to students majoring in Medicine, Prosthetics and Physical Therapy, Nursing and Business.
Trey's life was short but his impact on the world was big. He lived 17 years and this scholarship is a tribute to his life, his spirit, his memory, and how he lived. He made every day a good day. - Ed Little , Principal Skyview Highschool
