Challenging Heights helps provide classroom education for children in fishing communities who are affected by worst forms of child labor and child trafficking, to enable them recover and regain hope.
Many children are forced to work under harsh conditions in fishing communities in Ghana. This occurs at the expense of their schooling, sometimes their freedom or even their lives. This has forced many children miss opportunities for school. Challenging Heights mobilizes families in these communities to provide education for formerly enslaved children, and at-risk children and the most poor in the affected communities. This project enables children recover from trauma and regain hope for life.
Sponsoring a child will help affected children rebuild their lives, provide affected children and their communities with hope and opportunities for life.
As the children are educated they become aware of their rights and will not allow any person to trample upon those rights, and this will ultimately end the circle of child poverty, child labor and child trafficking.
"If you educate children, then they will know their rights, and the chances of them being forced into labor will decrease. Their future will be brighter because they have a way to avoid poverty."
