Mrs. Justin Nwadum
Mrs. Justin Nwadum worked after her secondary school for some years in a hospital. She vworked in the children ward, maternity and two years in the operation theatre. She will be trained in the "School of Health Technology" of the Ebonyi State (Nigeria).
Mr. Chinedu Awo
Mr. Chinedu Awo was trained by Dr. Tagapulot in a one-year certifcate course in community health. He received in this course the theoretical background and the practical application of the basic principles of primary health care in a rural area. Afterwards he worked some years as a Junior Health Extension Worker in the PHC-Project of IIRD. He is trained now for Nursing Science in the Ebonyi State University.
Infection of Guinea Worm
Before PHC started in Igbeagu-Izzi many people were infected by Guinea Worm. This infestation was quickly reduced where the "Water Purification Project" was concentrated.
A boy with an umbilical hernia
Medical doctors say that the cause of an umbilical hernia is lack of protein. Therefore the PHC-Project introduced a mixture of soya and maize, in powder form, for children and mothers as an alternate and supplementary source of protein at a reasonable price.
