Improving the health of Afghan families today through health education and investing in a healthier tomorrow for Afghanistan by training women to be health professionals, midwives, and vaccinators
During the last 24 years of war, pressing health needs of 8 million refugees and 10 million in Afghanistan have been unmet, with women and children at most risk. Creating Hope International's project partner, the Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL), has been working to meet the health needs of 100,000 Afghan women and children annually in Afghanistan.
To train 30 Afghan women as health professionals.
Outcomes include lessening the severe shortage of Afghan female health professionals. Graduates of the program will work in clinics for Afghan women and children, examining patients, providing midwifery and nursing services.
Women and children surge towards the door as AIL's mobile clinic vehicle nears. Medical team members know that there are no other health facilities for miles and take pride in their life-saving work.
